NAIT에서 가장먼저 Attestation Letters에 대한 진행 절차를 안내해 왔습니다.
학교 등록시 학비 보증금을 납부한 후 Attestation Letters가 학교에서 학생한테 보내진다는 내용입니다.
NAIT expects to be able to begin issuing provincial attestation letters (PAL) soon to NAIT applicants who have paid their tuition deposit, and who do not already have their study permit. PALs may be available within the next 1-3 weeks.
The process to receive a PAL is:
- The student must first pay their tuition deposit.
- After the deposit has been paid, NAIT will request a PAL from the Government of Alberta
- The Government of Alberta will send the PAL to NAIT, and NAIT will issue the PAL directly to the student.
- Students can then use the PAL, along with their NAIT LOA and all other required documents, to request their study permit.
*The process outlined above may be subject to change as we may need to adapt our processes as information is provided from the provincial government.
Our first priority will be to get a PAL to any students who have paid their tuition deposit to begin their studies in Spring 2024 (May). Then, we will request PALs for Fall 2024 (September) and Winter 2025 students. NAIT emailed students this week with some updates on the situation, and asking some students to identify for us if they already have their study permit or not. Please encourage your students to fill out the form in the email as soon as possible.
Importantly:
- If students want to receive a PAL, they need to first pay their tuition deposit.
- PALs will not be sent to students who have indicated that they already hold a valid study permit.
- Students should check their email frequently for NAIT information and/or their PAL. This is the email account listed on their NAIT application (same email listed in their MyNAIT profile).
- Students who need to request a study permit should do so as soon as possible after receiving their PAL. This is especially important for Spring 2024 students. We ask you, as our agent partners, to help students be prepared to apply for their study permit immediately after receiving their PAL. Once IRCC starts to receive PALs from other provinces, we expect there will be delays for study permits, so we hope that NAIT students will submit their requests before these delays begin.
Deferrals
We will have deferral options available later for students who receive a PAL and request their study permit, if the study permit still does not arrive on time. Due to the circumstances with the IRCC announcement, NAIT’s deferral rules will be relaxed for Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 students, and this information will be posted on our website when it’s available.
If student circumstances have changed
Of course, we hope that all students will still plan to come to Canada and study at NAIT. However, if any students have changed their mind about studying in Canada, they should inform NAIT about this using either the form linked in their student email or within the online Contact Form to indicate the reason why they want to cancel their application. Tuition deposit refunds may be available for specific circumstances due to the IRCC policy changes.
